Aisha Buhari takes Oluremi Tinubu on tour of Presidential Villa

First Lady Aisha Buhari on Tuesday took incoming first lady Oluremi Tinubu round some strategic areas of the official residence of the Presidential family in the Aso Rock Villa.

Aisha who received Oluremi, explained that the glass House in the villa is a transitional home of the first family.

She said the glass house is specifically meant for presidents during a transition period.

Newsmen were not allowed access to some parts of the building during the tour.

Aisha said:”the highly secured residential area of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is strictly to serve as an accommodation for the President and members of the family,” she said.

She said that the glass house is a transit accommodation for outgoing presidents to pave way for necessary renovations on the main house for the incoming president and his family.

Oluremi Tinubu expressed appreciation to the first lady for the warm reception accorded her.

She promised to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Aisha Buhari confident of Tinubu’s ability to deliver for Nigeria

The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has expressed confidence on the ability of Nigeria’s President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, to deliver a country where unity, peace and progress are sustained.

In a congratulatory message, which she personally signed on Wednesday in Abuja, the first lady expressed optimism that Tinubu would work assiduously to deliver Nigeria of a dream of our founding fathers.

”It is my conviction that the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency will lead this country into the future that our founding fathers envisioned,” she declared.

Aisha however said the success recorded in the election was a result of dexterity, foresight and good intentions of the president-elect to carry all Nigerians along irrespective of their ethnic and religious background.

She thanked all Nigerians, especially women, for their efforts towards the success of the party at the polls.

The first lady also congratulated he successor, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, and expressed confidence that Nigerian women will get a good deal during her tenure.

Tinubu garnered 8,794,726 votes to defeat other contenders.

Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, said voting for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in 2023 election, will guarantee employment for Nigerian women and youths.

Aisha, also the grand patron of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign team, spoke on Saturday at the launch of the South-South APC Women and Youths Presidential Campaign Rally in Calabar.

The first lady, represented by the wife of the APC Presidential Candidate, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, also assured the teaming APC supporters of better things to come.

”A vote for Tinubu/Shettima in the forthcoming election is a vote for progress, for unity and progress of Nigeria.

”Our husbands have both previously served as governors and we were first ladies of our respective states.

”It is easy to confirm that we have always been alive to our responsibilities by being sensitive to the needs of our people and keeping our husbands informed about developments around us.

”My sister and I hereby assure you that you can count on us as you are partners in progress, that you can trust us to ensure that issues which matter to you are kept in the front burner.

” We are fully committed to making sure that women issues are given priority in the next administration by God’s grace, a vote for Tinubu/Shettima is the vote for the upliftment of women and a vote for the creation of an enabling environment for our youth to thrive” she said.

Aisha who commended the show of love, solidarity and support by the South-South APC youths, assured of her unweaving loyalty and commitment to their cause.

”So, the youth we have not forgotten you. We are assuring you that you will be carried along every step of the way in this new administration,” she said.

The wife of the president also assured that Tinubu would be constantly reminded of the plight of the less privileged in the society.

”We will ensure that our husbands are constantly reminded about the plight of the less privileged and the need to empower and uplift our women,” she said.

On her part, the South-South Zonal Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign and wife of Cross River governor Dr Linda Ayade, charged the South-South APC women to come out en-mass to vote for Tinubu/Shettima in the 2023 Presidential election.

She assured that the large number of APC supporters would surely result in victory in 2023 election.

Also speaking, Dr Betta Edu, the APC National Woman Leader, urged the APC women to educate women on the need to guard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and vote for Tinubu/Shettima for progress and prosperity in Nigeria.

Edu also charged them to engage in door-to-door campaign to ensure victory for APC in 2023 election.

Some of the dignitaries at the event included the Special Assistant to the President on Africa first ladies Peace Mission, Dr Mairo Al-Makura, former Chief of Army Staff retired Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau and former FCT Minister, Alhaji Modibbo Aliyu.

Others were former Head of Service, Winifred Eyo-Ita, Sen. Ita Giwa, Mrs Zahra Buhari-Indimi and the Director-General, National Centre for Women Development Dr Asabe Vilita.

Aisha Buhari hands flag to Remi Tinubu, rallies support for Tinubu/Shettima

First Lady Aisha Buhari, has urged all members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to close ranks and ensure victory for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential bid in the forthcoming 2023 election.

Aisha spoke Thursday when she inaugurated the APC Women and Youths Wing of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign team in Ilorin, Kwara State.

She explained that the party ran a unique campaign during the 2015 and 2019 electioneering campaigns and it is determined to do same and ensure victory in forthcoming elections.

”The women and youth presidential campaign committee has become a movement by proving to be the game changer, leading a door to door campaign which led to a victory for APC at the 2015 presidential election.

”The victory is largely attributed to the tenacious efforts of young men and women of our party who drove out in an unprecedented numbers to vote for our party in 2015 and 2019 Presidential elections and we hope history will repeat itself in the 2023 elections.

She urged APC women and youths to sustain the energy and spirit used in the previous electioneering campaigns by ensuring a door-to-door campaign for the success of the party at the poll.

While handing over the flag of the party to Mrs Oluremi Tinubu for the commencement of nationwide campaign, the first lady urged her to close ranks with all members and pursue a vigorous campaign to ensure victory.

”I have today by my side, the wife of the presidential candidate and the wife of the Vice Presidential Candidate. I’m going to hand over a flag of success, a flag of victory, commitment, progress and unity to them.

”As I hand over this victory flag, I want you to move from zone to zone, state by state and seek for votes for the APC in order to deliver our candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” she said.

She urged Nigerian women and youths to support APC in its determination to complete the ongoing project it started for the benefit of all Nigerians.

”APC is making progress in the field of women empowerment and with APC the future of women and youth of Nigeria is assured.

”The affirmative action is a work in progress since the 1990s and we are happy because the foundation on which the incoming APC administration will crown our efforts has now been laid,” she said.

On her part, the wife of the APC Presidential Candidate Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, said the inauguration of the women and youths campaign team further reassured her of a nation that is unified, productive and peaceful.

Tinubu assured the gathering of their continued support to the less privileged Nigerians, especially in the areas of girl-child education and youths empowerment if Tinubu/Shettima are elected in the coming election.

The event was attended by the wives of the Governors of the APC-controlled states.
