Oluremi Tinubu reports for work at First Lady’s wing of Aso Villa

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu, on Monday in Abuja, took over affairs at the First Lady’s wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

She arrived at the wing, accompanied by her security aides.

The new first lady on arrival, was received by the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr Tijjani Umar and other Heads of Units in the First Lady’s Office.

She was thereafter guided on a tour of offices within the first lady’s wing, comprising the Administrative, ICT, Catering, Media and Protocol Units.

Remi Tinubu was born on Sept. 21, 1960 to Itsekiri mother and Yoruba father.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Ife, and has undertaken several courses in some higher institutions.

She served as the wife of Lagos State Governor between 1999 and 2007 and thereafter was elected Senator representing Lagos Central in the Senate.

As senator, she executed many philanthropic activities to alleviate the plight of vulnerable people in her Constituency

First Lady Aisha Buhari on Tuesday took incoming first lady Oluremi Tinubu round some strategic areas of the official residence of the Presidential family in the Aso Rock Villa.

Aisha who received Oluremi, explained that the glass House in the villa is a transitional home of the first family.

She said the glass house is specifically meant for presidents during a transition period.

Newsmen were not allowed access to some parts of the building during the tour.

Aisha said:”the highly secured residential area of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is strictly to serve as an accommodation for the President and members of the family,” she said.

She said that the glass house is a transit accommodation for outgoing presidents to pave way for necessary renovations on the main house for the incoming president and his family.

Oluremi Tinubu expressed appreciation to the first lady for the warm reception accorded her.

She promised to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Tinubu, wife Oluremi donate 100K food packs to Muslims, Christians

The President-elect Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi have donated over 100,000 combo packs of food items to Muslims and Christians in Abuja.

The donations were made on their behalf by the National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Betta Edu.

At the commencement of the donations at the National Mosque, Abuja, Edu said that the gesture was in the spirit of Easter celebration and Ramadan fast for both Christians and Muslims.

She said that the idea behind the donations was to show love to Nigerians as she called on everyone to pursue peace, security and p pray for the country during this period.

She enjoined Nigerians to reflect and pray for the nation’s unity, peace, love, security and more blessings for the country.

“The President-elect and his wife actually asked us to be here to distribute combo packs to Muslim faithful during this period of Ramadan which of course is a period of giving and love.

“We will also reach out to the Christians faithful. Different churches within the FCT and its environs will be receiving this combo packs in the spirit of Easter celebration.

“Let us pursue peace, Nigeria belongs to all of us and everyone has a role to play in nation’s building ” Edu said.

She called for unity amongst Nigerians so as to enable peace and national development.

“Let us come together as one nation under God to ensure that we see the development that we wish for our children by working together to achieve the sets objectives, ” she said.

Edu urged Nigerians to support the President-elect and his deputy, assuring Nigerians that she has no doubt that they would make a difference.

At the Wuse Zone 3 Mosque, Imaan Suleiman-Ibraham, the Director-General, National Commission for Refugees, said that Nigerians had worked hard in the last few months to ensure a good leader emerged as president of the country.

“In the last few months, we worked together so hard to ensure that we actualise the Nigerians dream.

“It is important for us to come together now to pray to achieve the Nigeria of our dreams and I believed that Tinubu’s government is going to be for everybody.

“We will be distributing over 100,000 of this max combo pack in the Mosques and churches.

“They actually contain different food items to Christians for the Easter celebration and to Muslims during the Ramadan fast, ” she said.

Salihu Bala, the Director, Muslim Community Center, Abuja, appreciated the President-elect and his wife for this gesture, while praying for Allah’s blessings upon his family.

He assured the delegation that the items donated would be distributed to the needy among them in the Mosque.

He also prayed for a peaceful hand over of government in May 29, and wished Tinubu a successful tenure.

Bala also donated some copies of the holy Quran to the President-elect on behalf of the Mosque, which where received by Suleiman-Ibrahim.

Tinubu will give special consideration for women, youths – Oluremi Tinubu

Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has said that her husband will give special consideration for youths, women and persons with disabilities.

Tinubu stated this on Sunday in Jos at a town-hall meeting, organized by the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Special Duties Directorate, to interact with stakeholders, especially ethnic nationalities in northern Nigeria.

Tinubu reassured women and youths that they would have a place of pride in the administration.

She said that they have been holding town-hall meetings to hear the views of Nigerians and what you really want from his administration.

“Manifesto of Tinubu/Shettima ticket has guaranteed you a lot for the youth. I want to assure you that you will not regret.

“You may think that because you are a youth, you don’t have anything to offer but there are lots of young people doing great things in their lives.

“We need your expertise. We need your knowledge to drive this country because you have technology at your fingertips,” she stated.

Tinubu advised youths to shun violence and engage in useful ventures adding that her husband has a large listening capacity to address their concerns if elected.

According to her, as former first lady of Lagos State, she worked closely with youths and women.

“And I believe that if you teach a woman how to fish, she will feed a family and make sure that there’s food on the table all the time.

“We will be there with you all through and I came in here to reassure you that we will not take your votes for granted,” she added.

Gov. Simon Lalong, in his remarks, said that Tinubu is the best among all the candidates vying to become Nigeria’s President.

Lalong, who is the Director General, APC PCC, said that Tinubu proved his capacity to lead Nigeria beyond reasonable doubt when he governed Lagos State.

The governor stated that Tinubu/Shettima took care of the nation’s diversities.

Sen. Grace Bent, National Director, PCC Special Duties Directorate, described the town-hall meeting as a huge success.

According to Bent, APC remains the party to beat as it has shown its capacity to tackle the nation’s challenges.

“The time is ripe for a personality like Ahmed Tinubu to be at the helm of affairs for Nigerians to see the difference for themselves,” she added.

Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rep. Ahmed Wase, described Tinubu as a detribalised Nigerian who values merit over other considerations.

Wase said that Tinubu demonstrated that he is true nationalist when he was Lagos governor when he appointed Nigerians from different states, tribes and religions to work with him.

The Deputy speaker told the gathering that Tinubu’s unique approach to leadership made Lagos state what it is today, the envy of other states.

Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a man of many traditional honours across the country, from north to south, west to east. The array of titles he has garnered was only comparable to that of Chief Moshood Abiola, winner of the 1993 Presidential election.
