“Our target is to come out on Feb. 25 with nothing less than 500,000 votes in support of our presidential candidate and the national assembly candidates.

“It is our hope that the 500,000 votes will represent over 80 per cent of votes that would come out of the field on that day,” Eba said.

He said that the party had structures across the state that would guarantee success for APC in the elections.

“After due consultation with party stakeholders, we have agreed that it’s time to move into the field.

“The council comprises 2,500 members, while the Local Government (LG) Campaign Council will have 52,000 members divided into 27 directorates.”

Eba said that the Chapter, Ward Chairmen and all the stakeholders at the LG level had the autonomy to constitute campaign councils of between 10,000 and 100,000 members in each of the wards and polling units.

Tinubu unveils Action Plan for Nigeria’s youths

PRESS RELEASE

You’re key to Nigeria’s progress, Tinubu tells youths in Abuja townhall meeting

…promises innovation hubs, technological advancement

Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to create an enabling environment that will unlock the creative abilities of Nigerian youths if elected president.

Tinubu who was speaking at the townhall meeting with youths in Abuja said being the dominant population in the country, the support of the youths is important in building a better Nigeria.

Starting from this basis, Tinubu who facilitated the negotiations between the striking university lecturers and the Federal Government, resulting in the calling off of their eight-month strike, said specifically that a conducive arrangement would be made available to the youths to finish their education and start thriving businesses.

“I will create a thriving and conducive environment for you to complete your education, start work or start a business, and earn a decent wage. With hard work and focus, you will once again be able to buy a car or a motorbike, buy a house, settle down, start a family and create a better life. I have plans to actualise all these dreams and can confirm that with your support these dreams will become a reality,” he said.

With the advent of technology, the APC candidate said his administration will help take advantage of recent innovations in the blockchain technology by reforming government policies around use of crypto assets. This he said, can provide over one million jobs within his administrations first two years in office.

Acknowledging that entertainment and sports have helped put Nigeria on the global map over and over again, Asiwaju Tinubu promised to build world-class entertainment venues and stadias across the country.

“I promise a thriving digital economy where those interested in pursuing careers of integrity in ICT will be able to do so. We will also ensure that Nigeria can take greater advantage of relatively recent innovations such as blockchain technology. We will reform government policy to encourage the prudent use of blockchain technology in finance and banking, identity management, revenue collection and the use of crypto assets. We shall implement policies that will train and build capacity among Nigeria’s large and youthful population to take greater advantage of the opportunities presented in ICT.

“I promise to invest in the infrastructure required to boost an already-successful entertainment industry. Working with private sector partners we will bridge the existing gaps to build modern media centers and upgrade existing entertainment venues and stadia across the country to world-class standards,” he said.

He also added, “My administration will reform the education sector by focusing on quality, access, funding, management, effectiveness, and competitiveness. I promise, we will provide good and quality education in tune with 21st Century demands.

“Our youth are some of the most brilliant people in the world, therefore we will equip you and ensure you are globally competitive and never left behind.

“We promise to give you a fairer deal. We promise to deliver results. We promise that the hope we are renewing will never be dashed.

“You shall become the leading catalysts driving the economic resurgence. You will be empowered for individual and collective success. There will be opportunities across board, and they will be for you. Let us go together!”

Governor of Kogi State and National Youth Coordinator of the campaign, Yahaya Bello, said the youths would stand by Asíwájú because he had demonstrated his love for youths by lifting many of them to be leaders in Nigeria today.
He said the APC candidate is the most qualified in the race and deserves to be elected president.
At the town hall meeting were Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Plateau State Governor and DG of the campaign, Simon Lalong, former governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo, Minister of Youths and Sports Development Sunday Akin Dare, party leaders and youth leaders.

Governor Sule

Opposition lying, Northern APC governors not meeting with Atiku

,

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has debunked a rumour that 11 Northern APC governors were secretly meeting with the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

Sule revealed why Northern governors under the All Progressives Congress (APC) agreed that the next president should come from the South and are rooting for the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sule made the statement while meeting with the state party officials, members of his campaign council, as well as elected and appointed government officials, at the Government House in Lafia, the state capital.

Sule debunked the claim as not only untrue but also as the antics of the opposition and those he referred to as parasites in government, who are bent on painting the governors black in their bid to curry favour from Tinubu.

He said there was no reason for any APC governor from the North to meet with Atiku, considering the fact that the APC governors from the region strongly insisted that the next president should come from the South, which paved the way for the emergence of Tinubu.

“These lies are coming from mainly two categories of people. One is the opposition that is doing everything possible to distract us because nobody wants Asiwaju to win this election more than the APC governors from the North.

“The reason is when the APC governors from the North realized that we were trying to retain the position in the North, the APC governors rose to the occasion and said no, this position has to go to the South in order for us to be respected as people who believe in Nigeria.

“After Baba (President Muhammadu Buhari) holds this office for eight years with the help of the South, if today we say we still want to hold on to the position, the world will not respect Northerners. And that was our only reason. And not everybody was with us on this page but God so kind, we had a President who listens and he listened to us and of course we succeeded and Asiwaju takes the position.”

The governor urged Tinubu to be wary of “the falsehood” that Northern APC governors held clandestine meetings with Atiku and those circulating it.

“I keep telling Asiwaju and I will tell him again, you, Atiku, Yar’Adua are on the same page. Nobody amongst these parasites understands Atiku more than you. If any governor is meeting Atiku privately in his house, you Asiwaju should know better.

“Don’t listen to them and don’t allow yourself to be carried away. If anybody wants you to win this election, it’s the APC Northern governors,” he said.

Buhari and Tinubu at the rally in Jos

Buhari set for Tinubu-Shettima rallies in Adamawa, Sokoto

, ,

President Muhammadu Buhari will attend the All Progressives Congress presidential rallies from Monday, squelching rumours of aloofness from the campaign being spread by PDP.

He is starting with the mega rally in Adamawa, where the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governorship candidate Senator Aishatu Binani are planning to upset PDP and Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate.

Atiku hails from the state and he narrowly defeated Buhari in 2019 election.

Buhari is also an in-law to the people of Adamawa, as his wife, Aisha comes from the state.

Buhari had won the state handily in four previous elections in 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.

According to a readjusted campaign programme, President Buhari will also show up in Sokoto on Monday 15 January and on Saturday 21 January, in Calabar, Cross River.

He is also expected in Ogun on 25 January, a day after commissioning Dangote Refinery, Lagos Blue Line and other projects in Lagos.

The two other rallies that the President will attend are those planned for Kwara on 28 January and Yobe on 30 January.

Last year, Buhari banned serving officials to stay away from campaigns, as he wanted them to concentrate on their jobs.
