“Our rivals do not have shame as they are fighting in public. How can they think of good governance?

“Go to Lagos State and see development. Hope is here, development is here, progress is here, Omo-Agege is here and prosperity is here,” Tinubu said.

The APC presidential candidate said that his presidency and Ovie Omo-Agege as the incoming governor would bring “hope, employment and development” to Delta and Nigeria at large.

He also promised to re-activate the multi-billion dollar Gas Revolution Industrial Park Project.

“President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has made giant strides in revisiting this project and we will complete it.

“Gas will become a national priority. I envision fertiliser and petrochemical plants, aluminium smelters, methanol plants, all aimed at creating jobs for the unemployed, while producing goods that boost farming, construction and other industries.”

Tinubu, however, assured Nigerians, especially youths that all the promises made to ensure a better Nigeria would be fulfilled.

“I will fulfil my promises to you. You are the future of this country. Your dreams will be realised for a stable and united Nigeria”, he said.

Omo-Agege said that a vote for the APC candidates would bring the much needed development to Delta and Nigeria.

He said that the Warri Port and Koko Ports would be reactivated when elected as the state governor and Tinubu as the President.

“I will go back to him to take a review of the privatisation of the Delta Steel Company, Aladja and full implementation of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko.

“I am also committing to you that the Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Ogidigben will come back to reality.

“I want to appeal to all people of Delta, we have our chance to get free from the tyranny in Delta.

“Today, we are blessed by an opponent whose credentials are being debated.

“The current governor wants to market education as a scam. We now have a chance to come out, go to our units and vote out the tyranny of the PDP,” Omo-Agege said.

Also, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, who spoke in Itsekiri, urged the people to vote for her husband so that they could have one of their own in the corridors of power.

At the rally were Tinubu’s running-mate,Senator Kashim Shettima; the running-mate to Omo-Agege, Mr Friday Osanebi, Senatorial candidates, Ede Dafinone; Thomas Joel-Onowakpo and Sen. Peter Nwaboshi.

Others included: Senate President Ahmed Lawan; the Governor of Plateau and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong; Gov. Hope Uzodimma; former Governor of Edo, Adams Oshiomhole, among others

Stop blackmail against Tinubu, let the courts speak: Lawyers Network

,

Lawyers Network for Bola Ahmed Tinubu (LANBAT) has urged Nigerians to allow court to determine allegations against the APC Presidential candidate.

The lawyers, who made the call at a news conference in Abuja, said the growing trend of blackmail and name-calling is against legal procedures.

Mr Sufyanu Sai’du a co-convener of the conference, said opponents were more concerned with blackmailing Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima, rather than ensuring issue based campaigns.

He said, “the latest of this infantile attack is the issue of Order of Forfeiture by the United States Government.

“This order of forfeiture is of funds in some accounts bearing the name of Bola Tinubu. This has no substance in law at all.

“The opponenets have consistently thrown out offensive and defamatory statements attacking the man of an unequalled antecedents in governance above them,” he said.

Sai’ du said the deviation from issue-based campaigns to frivolities, often subjected Nigeria to ridicule before the international community and must be discouraged.

He said they were duty-bound as lawyers to educate and remind Nigerians and the international community that Nigeria was a sovereign state.

The group’s co-convener said as a sovereign state, Nigeria enjoyed sovereign rights, duties and powers under international law.

“The sovereign activities of another country should not be allowed to drive our legal and political internal activities.

“Democracy must be built through an open society that shares information.

“When there is information, there is enlightenment and ccasionally the truth stands alone, and is sought through debates, and constructive dissection of facts.

“By this means, we prevent the abuse of information, defeat ignorance, ensure accountability and strengthen democracy,” he said.

He eschewed the outstanding qualities of the APC presidential candidate as well as his direct engagement with the private sector, professional bodies, farmers, women and youths among others.

Sai’du said it was only the candidacy of Tinubu and Shettima that had provided the electorate with clear manifesto and action plans.

According to him, laughably and pitiably, one of the candidates has told the world that his manifesto is in his head even in less than 100 days to the election.

“Nigerians must be watchful and weary of opportunists and people who do not appreciate our history.

“So, beyond the cheap blackmail and propaganda, Tinubu and Shettima team is that of men who have their history in the public sphere as legislators and governors, unlike the other major contenders,” he said.

The co-convener, said Tinubu and Shettima were pathfinders, consistent, brave and blunt and were dogged fighters.

He said that they were a team of leaders that harness potential, irrespective of ethnicity or religion.

“As lawyers and social engineers, we assure you a vote for Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima is certainly a vote for a better and prosperous Nigeria.”

On their role as lawyers in the electioneering process, the co-convener said they would continue to engage electorate for proper guidance on their choice of candidates.

Some of the co-conveners, Mr Adedotun Ajulo, Mr Olalekan Adeshina and Mr Kayode Mogbojuri, harped on need to seek legal redress in matters.

They said while Nigerians were free to investigate any candidate, it was proper to allow the court determine any form of allegation against any of the candidates.

They said it was impossible to convict anybody without a charge number, adding that they were yet to see any of such against the APC candidate.

The co-conveners commended Nigerians, who had approached the court over some of the allegations against Tinubu, saying that was the way to go.

PRESS RELEASE

Tinubu hits at PDP, says Delta State not ATM for migratory politicians

…APC candidate promises clean-up of Niger Delta

All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday in Warri hit at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to develop Delta State despite the huge resources accruing to the state.

The rally, which took place at the Warri Township Stadium, was attended by Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, APC Deputy National chairman, South, Barrister Emma Enekwu, representing National Chairman Abdullahi Adamu, the Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana Shettima, and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the presidential candidate and daughter of Itsekiriland.

Also in attendance were Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Plateau State and Director- General of the campaigns, Hon. Simon Lalong, Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege who is also Delta State governorship candidate of the party, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Wase, members of the APC National Working Committee, Ministers including Youth and Sports, Chief Sunday Akin Dare, and Labour & Employment (State), Festus Keyamo SAN and former governor of Edo State and Edo North APC Senatorial Candidate, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

While addressing the rally, Tinubu accused the opposition party of abandoning infrastructural development in the state and leaving the state to rot away.

He said: “Delta is among Nigeria’s largest oil and gas producing states. Revenue from oil and gas has historically been the backbone of government revenue and foreign exchange earnings.

“As such your state and other oil producers have made a one-of-a-kind financial contribution to the building of modern Nigeria. The nation is thankful to you.

“Delta has all it takes to be great and help lead the nation forward. Yet, for the past twenty-three years, those governing your state have taken you for a hard and long ride by selling you short. They have not done the things they should have and could have done for you.

“The infrastructure in the state was better 30 years ago than it is now. The state has recorded historic debts run up by the incumbent yet the infrastructure and other things still remain lacking because of under investment and neglect.

“The money is much but it does not have legs. Where did it go? Not to your welfare. Perhaps, it has found a home with a certain presidential candidate who loves Dubai more than Nigeria.

“But Delta State is not an ATM for migratory politicians. It is a place where good and hardworking people reside and work to create decent and peaceful lives for themselves and their families.”

On his plans for Delta State, which he described as another home to him, Tinubu promised to re-activate the gas revolution industrial park while also seeing to the cleaning of the whole Niger-Delta region to ensure that the host communities do not suffer for building the nation’s economy through their oil.

“Out government will further re-activate the Multi-Billion Dollar Gas Revolution Industrial Park Project. President Buhari’s administration has made great strides in revisiting this project. We will complete it.

“Gas will become a national priority. I envision fertilizer and petrochemical plants, aluminium smelters, methanol plants, all creating jobs for the unemployed while producing goods that bolster farming, construction and other industries.

“We will step up and clean up the operations of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Ministry of the Niger Delta.

“The NDDC will be improved. Greater cooperation with Communities which have suffered the environmental degradation will be my policy.

“I am saddened by the environmental cost which the oil and gas industry has exacted. Our moral and economic duty call us to clean the Niger Delta and to create new opportunities for young Deltans to build better lives for themselves,” he added.

On infrastructure development in the state, which he affirmed had been in a sorry state, Tinubu said, “We will help develop the infrastructure of your state. The deep sea port project and the Omadino – Escravos Road project will be revisited. We will rehabilitate Warri, Koko, Sapele and Burutu ports, creating yet more jobs in the State.”

He also promised to make the state safe for all, noting that no business can thrive in an unsafe environment.

“My government will deploy new technologies to protect the safety and security of law- abiding Deltans as well as the critical national infrastructure situated in this state. We will also introduce greater funding and reform policies to bring the Nigerian police closer to the communities they serve,” he added.

Addressing the rally, APC Governorship candidate in the state, Senator Omo-Agege said the Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition PDP, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, had failed the state and should step down.

He said Delta under Okowa’s  watch had become poverty and slum capital of the country and urged the people of the state to vote for Tinubu and all APC candidates in the 2023 general elections.

He described Okowa as Judas Iscariot of our time for abandoning power rotation principle and agreeing to be running mate of Atiku.

He asked him to step down.

Okowa also came under criticism from former governor of Edo State, Comrade Oshiomhole who accused him of under-developing the state.

Speaking in pidgin English, he said he was backing Asíwájú Tinubu for the presidency because “anyone wey want higher responsibility, you look hin past record service” stating that Tinubu as governor of Lagos State turned the state around and made it one of the biggest economies in Africa.

Senate President Lawan paid glowing tributes to both Asíwájú Tinubu and Senator Omo-Agege, his deputy, who he described as an eminent son of Delta State.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, a daughter of the soil addressed the people in her Itsekiri language, urging them to vote for APC so they could have one of their own in the corridors of power.
